You’ll kick off with three nights on the island of Java, staying in Yogyakarta, a city known for its traditional arts and cultural heritage and smattering of beautiful temples. Next, you’ll head to the exotic Indonesian isle of Lombok, which conjures up images of lush jungle, majestic volcanoes, dazzling white beaches and crystalline waters teeming with colourful marine life. Living Asia Resort & Spa in Senggigi, on the island on Lombok is where you’ll spend your next three nights. Day 1: Overnight flight from the UK to Yogjakarta.
Day 2: Arrive in Yogjakarta, on the island of Java, where you’ll transfer to The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta MGallery by Sofitel. Day at leisure.
Day 3: Visit Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple in the world, before continuing to nearby Mendut Temple and Pawon Temple. Stop for lunch at a restaurant surrounded by lush rice fields, before taking a traditional dokar (carriage) ride known to Candirejo. Overnight stay at The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta MGallery by Sofitel.
Day 4: Day at leisure. Perhaps visit Keraton Palace and the streets of Malioboro, or browse Beringharjo market for local goods. Overnight stay at The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta MGallery by Sofitel.
Day 5: Head to the airport for your flight to Lombok. Transfer to Novotel Lombok Resort & Villas in Kuta.
Day 6: Spend the day at leisure. Why not discover the coral reefs and colourful marine life while snorkelling. Overnight stay at Novotel Lombok Resort & Villas.
Day 7: Spend another day at leisure on the island of Kuta, where you’ll have the option to indulge in a spa treatment at your hotel.
Day 8: Transfer to Senggigi, where you’ll check into Living Asia Resort & Spa.

Day 12: A full-day excursion takes in Batubulan Village with its cultural show of Barong and Kris dance, then continue to Kintamani to enjoy the spectacular views of Mount Batur. Day 13: Spend the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Best Western Premier Agung Resort Ubud.
Day 14: Transfer to Nusa Dua and check into Tijili Benoa. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Best Western Premier Agung Resort Ubud (four nights)

Set in the cultural and artistic heart of Bali, Agung Resort Ubud is ringed by verdant jungle and the surrounding rice fields.
