Shipton Rd, Skelton, York YO30 1XW

York is one of the UK's most visited cities. Its ancient city walls, dating back from Roman times, enclose a labyrinth of narrow medieval streets, at the centre of which sits the magnificent York Minster Cathedral. Guided tours - including ghost tours - of the old town are available, and visitors should definitely pay a visit to The National Railway Museum and The Shambles historical quarter.

Another sight well worth checking out here is the hugely popular Jorvik Viking Centre, a museum designed to recreate the houses and streets of Viking York. You're also only a short drive from the magnificent North York Moors - a stunning landscape of moorland, forests and rugged coastlines - as well as the Victorian seaside resort town of Scarborough.
Five-star booking service? You bet.
