The NoMad Hotel

Midtown Manhattan, New York

A modern New York icon with an award-winning restaurant, bars and a Maison Kitsuné outpost

Don’t let the name deceive you – worldly and wanderlusting it may be, but The NoMad Hotel is anything but lost. This Condé Nast Traveller (US edition) Gold List getaway knows exactly where it stands: the happening North of Madison Square Park (note the acronym) zone, honoured in the eponymous bar’s Mackenzie Rollins photography. To top this off, its Daniel Humm restaurant serves a hot dog that was voted the city’s best. The spiral staircase at the Library Bar may come from the South of France, but the rich, masculine atmosphere is all Old New York.

This is a hotel with a strong identity, which also reflects influences from the 1950s, the 19th century and Paris, where designer Jacques Garcia grew up. The strong, stable vibe and Garcia’s nostalgia for his childhood flat shine through in the space and lend it the cosy air that’s had Vogue calling it a favourite stay. It is, above all, a home, and after 7pm, all those locals who came to the Library Bar – largely to feel so very Manhattan – are politely evicted, leaving you to sip your cocktail in peace.

Can't commit to booking right now?

Hold a date for only £25 while you decide.

  • Pay £25 to hold a date until the end of the sale.
  • If you choose to buy it, the money will go towards your purchase, if not, the cash will be credited to your Secret Escapes account.

Important: Please note, this is not a deposit, complete or guaranteed booking; holding the date simply prevents other members from swooping in and booking your preferred date while you're still having a think about it.
