Sophisticated candlelit meals of contemporary European fare are served looking out over the Italianate gardens. Full English and continental breakfasts and family dinners are served in the more informal environs of the Conservatory.

Wellness

Alongside a lovely heated swimming pool, a number of contemporary treatment rooms are available where massages, facials and reflexology treatments using the Elemis product range are available, plus manicures and pedicures.

Location

The Ickworth estate offers plenty of excitement for visitors of all ages, from short rambles through beautiful gardens to long bike rides through dense and varied forests, where you'll see all manner of deer and bird life. Guests can play tennis or make the 10-minute journey to the nearby Bury St Edmunds 18-hole Golf Club.

Keen horse riders (or novices for that matter) can sign up for riding lessons at the nearby Barrow Hall Stables and anglers will enjoy being just 15 minutes from one of the country's premier trout fisheries at Larkwood.

Please be aware that some of the guest rooms are located in The Lodge, which is a 10-minute walk or short drive away from the main house.

Travelling with kids?

The hotel offers plenty of services for younger visitors, from the kids' menu in the restaurant to the bottle sterilisers in the room upon request. Please note that access to the creche must be pre-booked, and is chargeable at £13 per child for two hours.

Moving outside, you’ll find a kids' play area with a fairy garden theme. It’s well-equipped, with a wendy house, trampoline, climbing frames, swings and more. There’s a tennis court too, with equipment available from reception. The heated swimming pool is stocked with floats and noodles.
