Perched on a rugged promontory where waves lash the shores, this grand Victorian hotel and set of cottages provide the perfect base for exploring some of both Cornwall and England’s finest coastline, or simply staring out to sea in quiet contemplation.

The Headland overlooks the postcard-perfect Fistral Beach in Newquay. Winner of two prestigious Gold Awards at the Cornwall Tourism Awards and Gold and Silver accolades at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards, this family-run hotel dominates the coastline and the original building featured in the memorable film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Witches.



Allowing you freedom and flexibility, the luxurious Headland cottages are built in a charming Cornish village style. If you opt for a cottage stay, you'll still have access to all the hotel’s facilities, and you can mix self-catering with meals in the restaurant.

Accommodation


Splendid rooms are spacious and traditional, exuberating luxury. You can expect traditional luxury at its best in the Coastal View rooms, which have views right across the coastline and towards Trevose Lighthouse. Crisp linens and plush furnishings underpin the luxury experience alongside satellite TV and Wi-Fi access, as well as a separate seating area, work desk and modern bathroom.

Cosy in the winter and refreshing in the summer, the One, Two and Three Bedroom cottages are airy and painted in fresh, seaside hues. Each has an excellent, open-plan working kitchen, a log-effect gas fire and lots of space. Outdoor decks and living areas provide a lovely touch, with scenic village views. If you opt for a cottage stay, you'll still have access to all the hotel’s facilities, and you can mix self-catering with meals in the restaurant.

Travelling with kids?

Family-friendly facilities include a kids' menu, highchairs, babysitting services, a kids' adventure playground, child swimming times (7.30-11am and 3-6pm) and in-room child equipment (stairgate and cots). One and Two Bedroom cottages have double-ended baths. Cosy in the winter and refreshing in the summer, the five-star cottages are airy and painted in fresh, seaside hues . Each has an excellent working kitchen, a log fire and lots of space.

While Newquay's eclectic nightlife may be the draw for some tourists, this picturesque part of the coast also offers tranquil shores and nature trails to explore away from the humming promenades.
