Day 1: UK - Istanbul

Touch down in Turkey’s intoxicating second city. Commonly mistaken as the capital, this river-fronted city sits on the border of the Asian and European continents, bringing a fascinating fusion of cultures. Transfer to your hotel, on the European side, on arrival and enjoy dinner. (Meals: dinner)

Day 2: Istanbul

Today you’ll start exploring, kicking things off with a city tour. Start off at the Byzantine Hippodrome, where chariot races were once held, then Hagia Sophia Church before visiting the iconic Blue Mosque, truly a sight to behold. After lunch, spend some time at the Topkapi Palace, an emblem of the Ottoman Empire, then finish off the day with a wander through the Grand Bazaar. In the evening, opt to cruise the Bosphorus at sunset. (Meals: full board)

Day 3: Istanbul - Ankara - Cappadocia


Depart for Ankara, Turkey’s capital, leaving Istanbul by the Bosphorus Bridge. In Ankara, you’ll visit the Hittite Museum to learn about Anatolian civilisations, before driving to Cappadocia. En route, you’ll visit the Salt Lake. (Meals: full board)

Day 4: Cappadocia

This morning, opt to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon flight across the Cappadocian landscapes at sunrise. You’ll share the sky with hundreds of other balloons for a truly incredible experience (please note this experience comes at an extra cost, payable locally). After breakfast, visit the Valley of Uchisar, Gerome Open Air Museum and Ozkonak, one of the most famous underground cities in the world. In the evening, opt to enjoy a Whirling Dervish dance. (Meals: full board)

Day 5: Cappadocia - Konya - Pamukkale


After breakfast, leave Cappadocia behind and head to Konya, visiting the Caravanserai of Sultanhani on the way. In Konya, you’ll’ visit the Monastery and Mausoleum of Mevlana, then continue on to Pamukkale for the night. (Meals: full board)

Day 6: Pamukkale - Izmir

Spend your morning lazing away in the healing mineral baths of Hieropolis, and admiring its snow-white petrified waterfalls. In the afternoon, more on to Ephesus to visit the Temple of Hadrian, the Library of Celsus and the Grand Theatre before arriving at your hotel. (Meals: full board)

Day 7: Izmir - Istanbul

Today you’ll journey back to Istanbul via Bursa, the capital of the Ottoman Empire. Explore two mosques here, then cross over the Osmangazi Bridge into the Asian side of Istanbul on the way to your hotel. (Meals: full board)

Day 8: Istanbul - UK


Enjoy breakfast, then transfer to the airport for your flight home.
