A whirlwind adventure through European gems by rail and sea, with a Bernina Express train trip and a Mediterranean cruise - including travel and deposit options

Day 1: UK - Zurich - Chur

Landing in Switzerland's largest city, Zurich, you'll hop on a local train alongside Lake Zurich to Switzerland's oldest town, Chur. During your time here, why not consider going for a day's hike, exploring the Old Town, or pick up a new timepiece at one of the many watch shops. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 2: Chur - Milan

Take to the railroad on Switzerland’s highest railway, the famed Bernina Express. You'll wind your way through villages, make a steep ascent above the Alpine treeline amidst dramatic glaciers, and voyage past the many castles of Switzerland’s Domleschg Valley, en route to Tirano in Northern Italy. It's then onwards again to Milan, one of the most fashionable cities in the world. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Milan

A paradise for shoppers and foodies alike, make the most of Milan’s many delights with a stay at the polished Antares Hotel Accademia. The chic city's world-renowned designer boutiques aren't far away, with Piazza Portello shopping centre temptingly located opposite, and the hotel's handy shuttle service whisks you around the corner to the nearest metro station. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Milan - Genoa

Today, take a train from Milan to Genoa. Upon arrival, check in to Hotel Continental Genoa to spend the night. Genoa's old town is well worth a wander, so make the most of your time by exploring on foot. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Genoa - at sea

You'll start your wonderful cruise today; board the MSC Fantasia, complete with multiple bars and lounges, a 4D cinema, outdoor pool and casino. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 6: Civitavecchia, Italy

Civitavecchia sits northwest of Rome, and dates back to the second century. You can transport yourself back in time with visits to its ancient port and the National Archaeological Museum. (Meals: full board)

Day 7: Palermo, Italy

While ported in the capital of Sicily, Palermo, be sure to visit the royal tombs in the 12th-century cathedral, or check out the Byzantine mosaics of Cappella Palatina. (Meals: full board)

Day 8: Cagliari, Italy

Today is Sardinia's capital city; make your way up the hillside to Castello for wonderful sea vistas and the medieval walled quarter. (Meals: full board)

Day 9: Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Explore the beaches, beautiful Gothic cathedral, and Moorish style architecture of Mallorca's capital city at your own pace. (Meals: full board)

Day 10: Valencia, Spain

Admire Valencia's old-meets-new vibes, with its futuristic structures, like the planetarium and interactive museum. (Meals: full board)
