Location and what's nearby

static map

K. H. Waggerl-Straße 5, 5640 Bad Gastein, Austria

The spa-town of choice for kings and emperors at the turn of the 19th century, Bad Gastein is a fairytale location nestled amid the High Tauern mountains, south of Salzburg, in Austria. The town is centred around the plummeting Gasteiner Waterfall and disappears off up into steep, forested slopes that give way to ski runs that draw confident and practiced skiers in the winter months. Grand Belle Epoque-style and Gothic architecture completes the scene for a postcard-perfect escape. Two public thermal baths with indoor and outdoor pools, a natural bathing lake and the Felsentherme Spa give the spa town its name.

Aside from hiking, exploring the nature, swimming in crystal clear springs and much more, Bad Gastein has focused on contemporary art in the summer time for 12 years now. The famous art festival called sommer.frische.kunst awaits our guests with a very special program including, exhibitions, performances, concerts, parties and an art fair called art:badgastein, with nine renowned galleries exhibiting for the very first time, and the best of it: all free of entrance.
