Stromstad Spa & Resort

Stromstad, Sweden

Property details

A waterfront hotel on Sweden's Bohuslan coast with a huge split level spa and impressive harbour views - includes breakfast, and access to the spa and gym
Accommodation

West Sweden's Bohuslan coast, stretching northwards from Gothenburg, is a natural wonder; an area of outstanding natural beauty, it was ranked by CNN Travel as the world's seventh most beautiful wilderness areas in 2017.

Nestled amid the Bohuslan archipelago is the seaside town of Stromstad, with its namesake hotel, Stromstad Spa & Resort, ideally positioned just steps from the water's edge, overlooking the marina. A large modern affair, its glass and grey buildings give way to Scandi chic interiors – a harmonious blend of restful blues, creams, beiges and greys. Tactile textures, natural wood finishes, sleek furniture and soft lighting all combine to create a tasteful ambience.

The 25-square-metre Standard rooms have a fresh, clean and bright feel, and boast plenty of natural light. Opt for a Deluxe room for even more space (46 square metres), separate bedroom and lounge areas, and a balcony.

Amenities:

- Queen-size bed
- Wi-Fi
- Flatscreen TV
- En-suite bathroom
- Armchair (Standard room) or sofas (Deluxe room)
- Fridge (Deluxe room only)
- Dining table (Deluxe room only)

Dining

The Maritimus restaurant, just metres from the seafront, offers a la carte and buffet dining, as well as a tempting wine list. The seafood platter (including oysters, brown crab, clams, fresh and smoked shrimp) is highly recommended.

Spa

The extensive 2000-square-metre Decléor Aroma Spa is a serene split-level space, including a saltwater pool, an outdoor Jacuzzi with spectacular harbour views, a Finnish sauna, snow tub, treatment rooms and more. Recommended is the Aroma Spa Ritual, which includes a range of delightful Decléor products.

Location

The hotel sits just 10 metres from the water's edge, overlooking the harbour and marina. Hire bicycles to explore the car-free Koster islands, or take to the water on a kayak. Stromstad Golf Club is just 45 metres away. Further afield is Kosterhavet – Sweden's first natural marine park. The hotel is only a short drive from the Norwegian/Swedish border and around 90 minutes' drive from Oslo in Norway.

Entry requirements

The passport, visa and health requirements (including those related to COVID-19) at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for UK citizens, and on the Department of Foreign Affairs website for IE citizens.
