In Costa Teguise on the island's east coast, beach-lovers will find themselves just a 15-minute walk from the bijou Playa Bastián, and a half-hour walk from Playa del Jablillo and family-friendly Playa de las Cucharas, both 2021 Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice picks. At the latter, you can tap into windsurfing thanks to the dedicated school there, if you fancy.

For more of a feel of a traditional Spanish plaza, albeit manufactured, head to the César Manrique-created Pueblo Marinero five minutes' walk away for ample bars, restaurants and people-watching opportunities.
