Even the best hotels have empty beds. Because we keep it hush-hush, they slip us phenomenal deals. Too good to be true? Nah. Just too good to be public.
Rural Netherlands riverfront retreat - Refundable hotel
Mooirivier, Zwolle, Netherlands

Property details
- Designer digs: For rustic charm, tasteful interiors and epic landscapes, you can do no better than Mooirivier, a luxurious country house on the banks of the River Vecht. A Tripadvisor Best of the Best hotel, Mooirivier holds a prestigious place as one of the Netherlands' finest hotels, and when you consider its privileged position, elegant décor and relaxed atmosphere, you’ll be left in no doubt why.
- Delicious dining: One of the hotel’s biggest bragging points is its first-class restaurant, Aan de Oever. Showcasing the best of French cuisine, with an appropriate infusion of Dutch flair, the kitchen exclusively uses seasonal produce from local suppliers and farmers – the closer the better, something proved by the kitchen’s own herb garden. In terms of wine, the list comprises some truly special labels, which includes internationally renowned and other lesser-known treasures, so you can count on finding the perfect pairing to any meal.
- River rambling: With the river and rolling countryside directly beyond the hotel’s walls, opportunities for intrepid exploration are many and verified here. Feel the health benefits of open-water swimming in the river and let the tranquillity of the water lull you into a state of utter calm. Don’t miss the chance of setting out on foot either, making the most of the picturesque paths in the area that lead to idyllic spots of natural beauty.
