Day 1: Colombo

Arrive in Sri Lanka and transfer to your first hotel.

Day 2: Colombo - Nuwara Eliya

Get to know the bustling city of Colombo on a city tour, taking you to Gangaramaya Temple and Independence Square. Next, travel to picturesque Nuwara Eliya, a city high up in Sri Lanka’s Hill Country, where you’ll set off another guided tour.

Day 3: Nuwara Eliya - Kandy

Travel to the cultural hotspot of Kandy, stopping along the way to visit a tea plantation and factory. Surrounded by lush greenery in ‘Little England’, learn about the process of producing the beautiful Ceylon flavour and try your hand at tea-picking.

Day 4: Kandy

In Kandy, discover the Sacred Temple of the Tooth, considered to be the holiest place in the world for many Buddhists. Visit Udawattakele Forest Reserve and take a fascinating tour of the city, ending at a local arts and crafts hotspot. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show.

Day 5: Kandy - Dambulla

Transfer to Dambulla for a trip to the UNESCO-listed, awe-inspiring Dambulla Cave Temple, as well as a historical Ayurvedic village, known for its spices.

Day 6: Dambulla

In the morning, head to the phenomenal Sigiriya ‘Lion Rock’ Fortress, a towering citadel that you can climb for breathtaking views over the plains. You’ll also have the option of a Jeep safari in one of the nearby national parks, where in addition to the Asiatic elephant, you might spot water buffalo, jackals, the elusive leopard, exotic birdlife and more.

Days 7-11/7-14: Kalkudah

After a fascinating adventure, make tracks for a relaxing beach resort on the golden shores of Kalkudah. On the way, you’ll have the opportunity to add on a visit to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. After four or seven nights by the ocean, you’ll check out and be transferred to Bandaranaike International airport for your flight to the UK.

Good to know

The transfer from Kalkudah to Bandaranaike International airport takes around five-to-six hours. If you would like to avoid an early start on your last day, you may wish to select flights with an evening inbound departure time.
