Today, your adventure begins with a city tour of Colombo. You’ll wander the different neighbourhoods, visit the Folk Art Centre, Independence Square and more, then spend some time at leisure before heading back out for a street food walking tour. Eat your way through the city with your guide, savouring a mix of Muslim, Malay and Tamil cuisine while laying eyes on some more iconic sites. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

(Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 5: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Set off for Nuwara Eliya this morning, once a British summer retreat. The drive here is one of the most scenic routes in the world, passing mountains, tea plantations, waterfalls and more. Pass through the stunning landscapes en route to Ella, then continue to your hotel near Yala National Park. Please note that train tickets are generally available for purchase approximately 21 days before travel; these will be booked for you through the Department of Railways Sri Lanka as soon as the booking window is open. If the train journey cannot be booked, you will be driven to Ella and Yala National Park. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)
