You’ll also visit the bustling stalls of Chandi Chowk, one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi.

Known for its protected tigers, the 410 square metres of Ranthambore National Park are up next. Day 6: Ranthambore

Rise early for the first of the day’s Jeep safaris in Ranthambore’s thick jungle. After your tour, enjoy some free time before boarding an overnight train to Varanasi - India’s spiritual capital.

Days 9-10: Varanasi

In the afternoon, take a sightseeing tour of the Old Town by rickshaw, stopping at Annapoorna Devi Temple, Assi Ghat, Bharat Mata Temple and Dashashwamedh Ghat. Here, observe the mesmerising daily ritual of aarti, performed by priests as an offering to Lord Shiva and the Ganges. Begin the next day with an enchanting sunrise boat trip on the river. Relax for the rest of the morning, then Banaras Hindu University, the sacred pilgrimage site of Sarnath and Pillars of Ashoka.

Day 11: Varanasi - Delhi
