Day 1: Lima

Touch down in Peru’s lively capital and check-in to the Allpa Hotel & Suites. Kick back and relax or opt to head out on a walking tour of the Barranco neighbourhood, with an added welcome dinner and a pisco sour tasting session ($79 per person). (Meals: dinner)

Day 2: Lima

Explore more of the ‘City of Kings’ today with an included city tour. You’ll visit picturesque churches, including the Santo Domingo convent and the opulent Lima Cathedral, then stop by the bustling Plaza de Armas. Post-tour, transfer to your hotel in the buzzing Miraflores district, the Aloft Lima Miraflores. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Sacred Valley

Hop aboard a flight to Cusco, where you’ll be met by a guide who will take you to the famous Sacred Valley. On your way there, swing by the Ccaccaccollo community, world-renowned for its weaving and textiles. You’ll get to enjoy a talk on the whole process and the history behind this intriguing practice. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Aguas Calientes

Travel down to Pisac, situated right by the sacred Urubamba River, and browse for souvenirs at a local market. Then, explore the town’s extensive ruins, including a guided tour of the Citadel of Pisac, in which you’ll see temples, homes, altars, carvings, tunnels, caves and the famous Intihuatana, ‘the hitching post of the sun’. Continue to Ollantaytambo to explore more ruins, then hop aboard the train to Aguas Calientes. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Machu Picchu – Cusco

Today, journey upwards to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu, one of the wonders of the ancient world. Spend time discovering these iconic ruins, then transfer back to Aguas Calientes and catch the train back to Cusco. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 6: Cusco

Get to know the ancient Incan capital in-depth on a city tour to Koricancha, Cusco School of Painters, Sacsayhuaman and the Tambomachay Archaeological Complex to name a few. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 7: Cusco

Enjoy a day at leisure in Cusco, exploring the plazas and local museums. You could also opt to take a cooking class ($40 per person), a trip to Rainbow Mountain ($90 per person) or an excursion to Maras Moray ($40 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Puno

Travel along one of the most beautiful rail routes in the world as you head to Puno on a full-day journey. Once aboard, you can gorge to your heart’s content in the two dining cars decorated in the style of the Pullman cars of the 1920s. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)

Day 9: Puno

After breakfast, sail out onto the deep blue waters of magical Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake said to be the birthplace of the Incas. Stop off at the Uros Islands, a series of floating islands made entirely out of reeds. Later on, sail towards Taquile Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a traditional Andean buffet lunch and plenty of free time. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)

Day 10: Cusco – Iquitos

It’s time for another flight today as you make your way into the enchanting Amazon Rainforest for a bucket-list stay in a unique treehouse. Opt to relax or get involved with a whole host of exhilarating activities, including dolphin-watching, kayaking, piranha-fishing, jungles walks and a visit to a local village (all chargeable). (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 11: Iquitos

With another day in the wilds of the rainforest, channel your inner David Attenborough and get involved with more activities, including night jungle walks and dugout canoe rides (chargeable). (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 12: Lima

Head back to Peru’s capital today for one last night before flying home tomorrow. We’d recommend one final night on the town. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
