A riot of colour, noise and activity, there are few more intoxicating destinations on the planet than India. From imperial palaces to chaotic bazaars, this kaleidoscopic country promises an altogether enlightening, humbling and awe-inspiring experience that gets right under your skin. You’ll experience all the rich history and cultural diversity the country has to offer on this stunning Golden Triangle tour that encompasses a tiger-spotting safari stay too.

It all begins in the capital of Delhi, with two nights at Crowne Plaza New Delhi Mayur Vihar Noida. In this bustling metropolis, you’ll experience a full-day tour of Old and New Delhi. You'll ride a rickshaw around the Red Fort, the former residence of the Imperial Family, and see where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated at Raj Ghat. You'll also drive through India Gate, on the way to seeing the Presidential Palace.

The alluring ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur is your next stop and the Hilton Jaipur your base. Embellished with royal heirlooms of past Maharajas, fast-paced Jaipur holds majestic palaces, imposing military forts and exceptional shopping. Your city tour reveals the Amber Fort, the opulent City Palace complex, and the UNESCO-listed marble observatory of Jantar Mantar.

Next, it's onwards to Agra and your plush pad there, Jaypee Palace Hotel & Convention Centre. En route, you'll stop off at another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 16th-century town of Fatehpur Sikri, that was briefly the capital of the Mughal empire with its red sandstone monuments and temples. While in Agra, you’ll get to see the most famous love memorial in the world, Shahjehan’s white-marble Taj Mahal, plus Agra Fort – one of the finest forts in the country.

Next, you’ll hop on a train towards exotic, tiger-strewn Ranthambore National Park. Head off on a thrilling safari for every chance of meeting the National Park’s residents. There is a rich variety of flora and fauna to discover here, from leopards, crocodiles, deer, sloth bears, and, if you’re lucky, the park's stunning tigers. Keep your eyes peeled for the 10th-century fort and the park's largest lake, the Padam Talao dotted with water lilies. Lastly, it's back to Delhi by train for a day and night left to your own devices, before reluctantly flying home to the UK.

Good to know

Tourist visas for India must be obtained prior to travel; information on how to obtain a visa, and associated timescales and costs can be found here.

This holiday allows you to spread the cost of your break by paying only the deposit upfront.
