You're about 25 kilometres from Corfu Town, whose UNESCO World Heritage-listed old quarter boasts arcades, pastel-hued Venetian houses, and peaceful squares perfect for people-watching. Also of note is the Byzantine Museum in the Mourágia district - a medieval church crammed full of unusual historic objects. If you’ve a car at your disposal (which we’d highly recommend, even if just for a few days), get acquainted with the island’s road network and nip between unspoilt coves, sandy beaches and quaint fishing villages – all in the name of research, of course.
