Viale Del Risorgimento, 73100, Lecce, Italy

Discover the charms of lovely Lecce, an architecturally delightful city set in Italy’s heel, on the Salento peninsula. Baroque buildings abound throughout this honey-hued place, which was built throughout the 16th and 17th centuries from, predominantly, a soft local stone which was ripe for carefree carving. And sculpt away the stonemasons did, leaving a bevy of buzzards, wolves, cherubs, Saracens and more, all peering down as ancient adornments.
