Journey through the musical hotspots of the USA: Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans, with a rip-roaring Mardi Gras experience, plus an all-inclusive Caribbean cruise - includes flights and some transfers

Nashville

Your USA musical city tour begins in Nashville, the birthplace of country music, where the sound of foot-tapping honky tonk beats mingles with the hum of country crooners taking to the mic. Often known as Music City, a visit isn’t complete without hitting up The Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry to learn about the stars who started their careers here.

Memphis

Arrive in Memphis, a vibrant city on the banks of the Mississippi River where the dulcet tones of blues guitar riffs collide with the scent of smoky BBQ and Elvis is always in the building. While you’re here, explore the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s former mansion on an incredible Graceland tour or visit the legendary Sun Studios where everyone from Elvis Presley to BB King and Johnny Cash recorded now smash-hit albums.

New Orleans

Take an iconic Amtrak train to New Orleans, a uniquely eclectic city where history, music, gastronomy and witchy culture combine to dazzling effect. You'll spend one night here, then galivant off around the Caribbean before returning to Nawlins for its biggest celebration: Mardi Gras. Watch the city come alive in a kaleidoscopic mix of parades, live music and all-night street dancing, as jazz musicians burst into impromptu street performances day-to-night.

Caribbean cruise

Day 1: New Orleans - At sea

Depart New Orleans, spending your first night at sea. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 2: At sea

Spend a day at sea. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 3: Costa Maya, Mexico

Your first stop is in Mexico, where the ancient Mayan ruins of Kohunlich meet a bustling town centre. Divers can head off to see some of the local marine life, but an excursion to the Mayan temple complex is the most popular activity. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 4: Harvest Caye, Belize

More swaying palm trees and azure waters await in Belize. The temple ruins of Altun and Cahal are a must-see for history buffs, while South Water Caye is nothing short of jaw-droppingly beautiful with its neon blue sea stretching as far as the eye can see. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 5: Isla de Rotán, Honduras

As the biggest and most developed of Honduras’ Islas de la Bahía, Isla de Rotán is a paradise if ever there was one, with mountainous inner lands and a surrounding coral reef. Visit a reconstruction of an old galleon at Dixon Cove, or simply spend time swimming in the spectacular seas. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 6: Cozumel, Mexico

This island right off the coast of Mexico’s Playa del Carmen is a haven of azure shores and activities. Here you’ll find Mayan artefacts and ruins, and, for those marine lovers out there, plenty of fabulous dive sites. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 7: At sea

Spend another day at sea exploring the ship’s almost endless facilities. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 8: New Orleans

Arrive back in New Orleans in the morning and transfer to your hotel.
