An unforgettable city and outback escape to Australia split between the east coast, Uluru and Alice Springs – including all travel
Explore all the best bits of sun-soaked Australia with this 12-night east coast and central Australian adventure that combines city and outback in all the right doses. From the hip vibes and glorious city beaches of Sydney, to the seemingly endless outback, it's pretty easy to see why Australians consider their home turf to be the Lucky Country. With so much to see and do here, it can seem difficult to know where to start, but fear not – we've got you covered.
Kick it all off in stunning Sydney, bedding down at the Holiday Inn, Darling Harbour. If you can tear yourself away from the Jacuzzi and sauna at your plush hotel, you'll find the New South Wales capital home to much more than just the iconic Opera House. Near to the hotel, wander through Paddy's Markets to find an array of fruit, vegetables, clothes and giftware for sale and see underwater creatures close-up at Sydney Aquarium. If you want to escape the city hustle and bustle, spend a peaceful afternoon in the serene, secluded surrounds of Darling Harbour’s Chinese Garden of Friendship.
Hunter Valley is up next, full of fertile soils that produce some of the world’s best wines. Australia’s oldest wine region and just two hours’ drive from Sydney, this region is particularly known for its acclaimed Semillon, family owned wineries and innovative young winemakers. You'll stay at Hunter Valley Resort, which offers wine-making lessons and cooking classes. Immerse yourself in the Hunter Valley Wine Theatre Experience and taste some of the region's best wines before bedding down in your cosy room at the Hunter Valley Resort, complete with a private balcony overlooking the vineyard or mountains.
You'll head back to Sydney for one night before hopping on a flight and heading inland to visit the monumental sandstone monolith of Uluru. Stay within an oasis of native gardens at Voyages Desert Gardens Hotel, complete with outdoor pool and a luxurious spa offering a range of relaxing treatments, before experiencing eco-friendly luxury and stunning views of the majestic MacDonnell Mountain Ranges with three final nights at Doubletree by Hilton Alice Springs. Play a round on the 18-hole golf course next door to the hotel, or visit the nearby Alice Springs Desert Park, jam-packed full of wildlife.
Good to know
Your trip includes entry to the Hunter Valley Wine Theatre Experience and wine-tasting at the resort.
This holiday allows you to spread the cost of your break by paying only the deposit upfront. The remaining balance is due at a later date and is to be paid directly to the holiday supplier (the exact date will be stated on your booking confirmation).
Please note that your outbound flights are over two nights and your inbound flights are also overnight, so please bear this in mind when planning the time you'll be away for. The date you select as your check-in date will be the day you'll fly out from the UK and you'll arrive in Sydney two days later to commence your 12-night holiday. The check-out date will be the day that you'll board your inbound flight back to the UK. Since your inbound flight is also overnight, you'll be away for a total of 15 nights.
Enjoying five charismatic Australian destinations all in one trip
Spending three nights among the vineyards of Hunter Valley, trying some fantastic Australian wines
Experiencing Uluru in all its glory in the heart of Australia’s' Red Centre
Immersing yourself in the history and Aboriginal culture of Alice Springs
