The old city of Perast lies on the picturesque Bay of Kotor, where you can stroll along the promenade by the water, which extends along the entire city. The city was part of the Republic of Venice between the 15th and 18th centuries, and remnants of Venetian culture can still be found throughout the city.
About nine miles away is one of Montenegro's best preserved medieval villages, Kotor, which is surrounded by a three-mile-long medieval wall. Inside the wall you can see the city's main square with a beautiful bell tower and many beautiful buildings such as Napoleon's French theatre.
