Property details

Live like a Lisboeta in an upscale Portuguese palace hotel with fantastic dining and dreamy city views - includes breakfast
  • Pretty in Portugal: Torel Palace Lisbon is set across two striking turn-of-the-century mansions, separated by a courtyard and converted in a way that still feels like an upscale home, rather than a hotel. Bedrooms are named after Portuguese royalty and have fancy details, like stucco ceilings and white shutters and balconies covered in coloured tiles.

  • Breathtaking city views: The location is also top notch: on a hilltop overlooking the heart of red-roofed Lisbon towards the River Tagus. Most sights are walkable, if you can tear yourself away from the shimmering outdoor pool and spacious sun-splashed terrace, and there’s a handy funicular for the way back up the hill.

  • Mouthwatering cuisine: Boasting a Michelin star, the 2Monkeys invites you to indulge in the world of fun fine-dining with modern haute cuisine. Alternatively, head to the beautiful interiors of the Black Pavilion Restaurant for high-quality dishes and views of the city from the outdoor terrace. For pre-dinner drinks there’s also small but classy bar pouring out cocktails and punchy local wines.

Location and what's nearby

Lisbon has seven hills: Torel Palace is located atop the most central knoll, offering magnificent views. Over breakfast, stare out at the city and plan your sightseeing with a bird’s-eye view. The main street, Avenida da Liberdade, is just below the hotel and can be reached via a flight of steps or by the oldest funicular in Lisbon, Lavra. Explore Alfama, perhaps pay a trip to the coast at Cascais, take a trip to Sintra – but whatever you do, don’t miss a pastel de nata in the national house of custard worship: Pastéis de Belém.
Five-star booking service? You bet.
