Day 1: UK - Night on board
Depart the UK for Quito. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.
Day 2: Quito
Arrive in Quito, transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 3: Quito
You'll embark on a sightseeing tour of the city's historic areas and taste a rainbow of colourful local fruit at a market. In the afternoon, you can unravel the city at your own pace. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 4: Quito - Galápagos Islands
Today you'll make the leap of a nature-lover's lifetime and fly to the Galápagos Islands. Transfer to Santa Cruz island, stopping in the highlands for lunch at a ranch. Look out for giant tortoises near small lagoons and visit the lava tubes. Continue to your Santa Cruz hotel and spend the rest of the day discovering. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 5: Galápagos Islands
Spend the day at leisure, or take an optional (chargeable) excursion to explore one of the nearby uninhabited Galapagos islands. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 6: Galápagos Islands
Carry on getting to know Santa Cruz on your own steam, before an afternoon speedboat ride to San Cristóbal island, lasting two or three hours. On arrival, check into your hotel. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 7: Galápagos Islands
Spend the day at leisure, or take an optional (chargeable) excursion to explore one of the nearby uninhabited islands. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 8: Galápagos Islands - Guayaquil
You'll wave goodbye to this pristine natural corner of the planet and fly to Guayaquil on Ecuador's mainland. Relax for the rest of the day, perhaps exploring this buzzy university city. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 9: Guayaquil - Lima
You'll fly south to neighbouring Peru today. On arrival in Lima, transfer to the hotel, and depending on the time, spend the rest of the day seeing your surroundings. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 10: Lima
Tour the Peruvian capital, from the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro to the Historic Centre, seeing the Convent of Santo Domingo and the Plaza de Armas. Finally, stop in Parque del Amor to snap refreshing coastline scenes. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 11: Lima - Cusco - Sacred Valley
It's time to conquer the once capital of the mighty Incan empire. Arriving in Cusco, you'll head to the Sacred Valley, an area in the Andean Highlands, with an unguided photo stop at Awanakancha en route. Spend the rest of the day as you wish after check-in. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 12: Sacred Valley
Browse vivid textiles in the lofty Andean village of Chinchero and be blown away by the panorama at Mirador de Racchi viewpoint on a tour of the valley. You'll see Ollantaytambo - a well-preserved Incan village, and also visit Moray's ruins of impressive Incan crop terraces with irrigation system. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 13: Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu
This morning brings a train ride to Aguas Calientes for a thrilling guided tour of Machu Picchu. After, you'll have time on your own to take in the awe and wonder of this staggering UNESCO World Heritage Site that the continent's Spanish conquistadores never saw. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 14: Aguas Calientes - Cusco
If you wish, you can return to take in the mind-blowing splendour of Machu Picchu once more (extra charge). Come afternoon, hop back on board a train to Cusco. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 15: Cusco
See Cusco on an afternoon tour, revealing this ancient stronghold's most historic and magical sights. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 16: Cusco - Night on board
It's time to reluctantly fly home, spending the night on board before arriving home.
