Hip interiors at a new hotel close to Reykjavik’s artsy harbour – with all travel, plus a Northern Lights cruise, whale and dolphin watching, and epic optional excursions

Charming, colourful Reykjavik is a city on the up, home to some of Iceland's most innovative new restaurants and hippest hotel openings and on the doorstep of Europe’s wildest and most wonderful scenery. Reykjavik’s compact layout makes it easy to explore on foot, and staying in the centre is the best way to discover the 101 district, where you’ll find the best places to eat and a host of shops selling everything from reindeer skins to Icelandic knitwear.

Since its opening in July 2018, the all-new Exeter Hotel by Keahotels has charmed guests with its location in the centre of the city, between lively Laugavegur street and the up-and-coming harbour area. Within a few minutes you can walk to the iconic, gleaming Harpa building on the water’s edge, the Alpingi parliament buildings and a selection of great eateries. The towering Hallgrimskirkja cathedral is around 15 minutes away. The hotel is a great base for exploring, with a modern restaurant and a sauna.

It’s easy to explore further afield too, which you'll have a chance to do as part of our offer: you'll embark on a Northern Lights cruise and watch dolphins and whales break through icy waters. Stay longer to enjoy a tour of the Golden Circle's Thingvellir National Park where you can observe the rift between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, the refreshing Gullfoss waterfall and the famed Geysir geothermal area, where you will witness Strokkur erupt every 5 to 10 minutes. Transfers to the thermal waters of the Blue Lagoon (admission excluded) will round up your Icelandic experience and tick one more item off your bucket-list. For a more adventurous and unforgettable escape, choose to add a snowmobiling expedition on one of Europe's largest glaciers, Langjökull.

Good to know

The Northern Lights are a naturally occurring phenomenon, so while you will have a good chance of seeing them (and we'll cross our fingers for you), we cannot guarantee they will oblige.
