Embark on a spellbinding tour of Ecuador with city, volcano and Amazon stops and a nature-filled Galapagos adventure – includes breakfast, all travel and excursions

Day 1: UK - Quito

Arrive in Quito, Ecuador's ancient Inca capital, where you'll transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Explore the UNESCO-listed Old Town, hop on the TelefériQo for views of the city or get acquainted with Ecuador's delicious food. (Meals: none)

Day 2: Quito

In the morning, you'll embark on a city tour, exploring the historic centre and a traditional market where you can sample some of Ecuador's exotic fruits. Spend the afternoon at leisure, continuing to explore the city. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Quito - Quilotoa - Baños


After breakfast, you'll set off towards Baños, passing through the Cotopaxi National Park en route, where you'll stop to get incredible panoramic views of the active Cotapaxi volcano and to admire Quilotoa volcano lake. After this, you'll continue to the artisanal town of Tigua, before stopping in Baños, a subtropical town in the Amazon basin. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Baños

Today, take an excursion to Baños Waterfalls on board a traditional Chiva. In the afternoon, take time at leisure to visit the waterfalls (entrance not included) or discover the city. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Baños - Chimborazo - Riobamba

Journey through Chimborazo en route to El Chimborazo - the highest volcano in Ecuador. Enjoy the views and the landscape, then stop off at the Palacio Real community, before arriving in the fascinating city of Riobamba. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)

Day 6: Riobamba - Guamote - Alusi - Ingapirca - Cuena


Visit the quaint towns of Guamote and Alausi, before heading to the ruins of Ingapirca - the largest and best-preserved Inca ruins in Ecuador. Continue to Cuenca, then spend the rest of the day at leisure or choose an optional excursion to Devil's Nose mountain (£35pp). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Cuena - Cajas National Park - Guayaquil


Spend the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, depart for Guayaquil on the coast. Stop at the Cajas National Park en route, home to the mighty Andean Condor. You’ll also stop at a local cocoa community to learn how chocolate is made. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Guayaquil - Baltra - Galapagos (Santa Cruz)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Baltra, in the Galapagos Islands. From Baltra, transfer to Santa Cruz by ferry. Stop in the highlands of Santa Cruz, the verdant green habitat of the famous Galapagos giant tortoises and enjoy lunch and a tour at a private ranch. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 9: Galapagos (Santa Cruz)

Spend the day at leisure or choose an optional excursion to an uninhabited island, where you'll be able to admire rare wildlife, have lunch on the island and snorkel with turtles (£222pp). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: Galapagos (Santa Cruz - San Cristobal)

Spend the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, take a motorised boat to San Cristobal island. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 11: Galapagos (San Cristobal)


Spend the day at leisure or opt for an excursion to another uninhabited island (£142 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 12: San Cristobal - Quito


After breakfast, transfer back to Quito, where you'll spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 13: Quito - UK


Transfer to the airport to catch your flight home. (Meals: breakfast)

What is a deposit?

In short, you pay Secret Escapes a non-refundable deposit to secure your holiday, then you pay the holiday supplier the remaining balance of the holiday - as advertised - at a later date (before you travel).

We've added deposit-only sales to enable our members to get early-bird access to more amazing holidays, and because we know that planning and paying for a holiday can take time.
