Day 3: Bogota - Pereira
You’ll set off for Colombia’s coffee triangle today - the largest coffee-producing area in the region - home to stunning landscapes and, of course, the world-famous coffee plantations. Upon arrival, treat yourself to a cup of authentic Colombian coffee. (Meals: breakfast) Day 4: Pereira
With no travel today, you can rest up and enjoy time at leisure, gearing up for the rest of your trip. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 5: Pereira - Calarcá or Salento - Pereira
You’ll head off to Calarcá or Salento, around 90 minutes away, for a fascinating Acacias or Recuca Coffee Tour. You’ll learn about the whole process from harvesting to washing and drying, discovering the traditions that make Colombia’s coffee unique. Afternoon at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 6: Pereira - Cartegena
You’ll leave Pereira for the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cartegena today, where the centre is surrounded by an eight-mile wall, and spend your afternoon at leisure. Be sure to catch the sunset come evening. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 7: Cartegena
Enjoy a private guided walking tour of the city, navigating the stunning 16th-century buildings and learning about the area’s history along the way. Top spots on the tour include Santo Domingo Square, the iconic Clock Tower, Cartagena’s Cathedral and the Palacio de la Inquisición. In the afternoon, explore the area at your own pace. Day 8: Cartegena
Explore on your own today; revisit your favourite spots from yesterday’s guided tour, or seek out the Candeleria Convent, impressive San Felipe de Barajas Castle, or beach. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 9: Cartegena - Panama City
You’ll transfer to the airport for your flight to the second country on this trip: the beautiful Panama - specifically its capital, Panama City. On arrival, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore its contrast of old and new buildings at your own pace. (Meals: breakfast - dependent on flight departure time) Day 10: Panama City
Today, you’ll enjoy a day at leisure. Why not explore the historic centre of Panama’s capital, before kicking back in one of the bougainvillaea-filled plazas at an alfresco eatery? (Meals: breakfast)
Day 11: Panama City
Admire the waters of Miraflores Locks on a guided tour. You’ll peruse the canal’s museum and learn about the Lock’s construction process. Rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 12 - Panama City - UK
After breakfast, transfer back to the airport, homeward bound. (Meals: breakfast)
