  • Whimsical castle stay: Step back into medieval times with a wander through Peckforton Castle Hotel’s fairy-tale-like corridors and spiral turret staircases. Built in the mid-19th century, it's a Victorian take on a medieval castle, complete with French tapestries on stone walls, arrow-slit windows and suits of armour.

  • Delectable dining: You’re guaranteed a fine dining experience at the 1851 Restaurant, where you can tuck into a cooked breakfasts, sumptuous lunches and evening dinners crafted from fresh, organic ingredients. Or there's the 2010 Brasserie, which offers a more relaxed atmosphere, serving up fish and chips, steaks and other favourites.

  • Home from home: You can easily rest your head like royalty in these majestic surroundings. Classic Double rooms blend historic style with contemporary comforts for a fine night's slumber. Thick, patterned fabrics and solid oak headboards remind you of the castle's rich heritage, alongside antique furnishings that hark back to a bygone age.

How to get there

If you're arriving via public transport, the best stations to head to are Chester or Crewe. Both stations connect to major transport hubs like London and Manchester, and each is equidistant to the hotel. A taxi from either should take around half an hour. The castle isn’t the easiest to reach via public transport, so we recommend driving if possible.

Good to know

Please advise the hotel if you have any special room requirements prior to your arrival (such as lift access or ground-floor access).

The 1851 Restaurant has several stairs leading to it; a chair lift is available if required. Please also note that except for Sunday lunches in the restaurant, under-16s are only allowed in the 2010 Brasserie during evening service. To avoid any disappointment, it's recommended that you make restaurant reservations directly with the hotel, prior to your stay.

Entry requirements

Peckforton Castle is perched on top of a hill near the villages of Beeston and Peckforton in Cheshire, surrounded by miles upon miles of rolling Cheshire countryside and forest. The Roman city of Chester is around half an hour’s drive away, and the railway town of Crewe is around the same in the other direction, both making for great day's out.

Chester certainly has plenty to offer: think pretty Tudor buildings, original Roman-era walls and some of the North West’s best pubs and restaurants. Closer to home, enjoy some of the county’s finest walks along the pathways of the Sandstone Trail, with beautiful panoramic vistas to stop and marvel at along the way.
