A traditional country hotel with Victorian-style rooms and a rich literary history in Harrogate - includes breakfast, dinner and a cream tea
  • North Yorkshire charm: Crime-writing doyenne Agatha Christie famously 'disappeared' to this elegant retreat in 1926 - and it’s no mystery why, with vintage Victorian bedrooms, genteel restaurant and bar, and a perfect setting among the undulating Yorkshire Dales. You know where to come for your next impromptu vanishing act.

  • First-rate wining and dining: Wedgwood Restaurant offers a sophisticated dining experience from a bygone era, when food and company were both enjoyed in equal measures and glass ceilings were created on a truly monumental scale. The changing menus shine a spotlight on the freshest of seasonal produce, sourced from the local region.

  • Old-meets-new: There’s a touch of the vintage to The Old Swan’s rooms - Victorian proportions and elegant furniture belie a thoroughly modern undercurrent of amenities. All of this old-school charm comes wrapped with views of pretty Harrogate and the peaceful hotel gardens.

Location and what's nearby

Swan Road, Harrogate, North Yorkshire HG1 2SR

Harrogate is renowned for its Royal Pump Room, elegant spa buildings, inviting green spaces – including the beautiful RHS Garden Harlow Carr – and Bettys famous tearooms, all built over England’s strongest sulphur spring, which can still be sampled today. Fun fact: each July, the hotel hosts the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival. Nearby, Mercer Art Gallery houses a permanent fine art collection, plus two lively exhibition spaces, while Ripon Racecourse, Oakdale Golf Club and epic hiking terrain in the surrounding Yorkshire Dales are more than enough to keep you busy.
