A week-long adventure through fascinating Lebanon, with spells in the capital Beirut, visits to Roman and Phonecian ruins and a trip underground into the Jeita Grotto – includes all travel, excursions and half board

Day 1: UK – Beirut

Hop aboard your flight from the UK and land into Beirut. Lapped by the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea, It’s a glamorous, fast-paced place with friendly people, a thriving bar and restaurant scene and an energetic vibe. Check in to the Caramel Boutique Hotel and get settled in, then opt to head out and explore some of the city’s celebrated nightlife. (Meals: dinner)

Day 2: Beirut – Beitedinne – Beiruit

After breakfast, take a half-day guided tour of Beirut, including the Corniche with the Pigeon's Grotto, and the National Museum. After lunch, set off towards the Chouf Mountains to explore Beitedinne Palace and Deir Al Qamar, before returning to Beirut. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 3: Beirut – Burj Hammoud – Beirut

Take a foodie tour, including breakfast with the Soussi family, a visit to Burj Hammoud, and an Armenian and Middle Eastern lunch including borek pastries. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 4: Beirut – Tyre – Beirut

After a hearty breakfast, discover the country’s Phoenician history and lounge on some of the country’s best beaches in Tyre, stopping along the way at Sidon to visit souks and the Sea Castle, constructed by the Crusaders in AD 1228. Enjoy lunch in Tyre, then continue to Echmoun, an ancient place of worship dedicated to Eshmun, the Phoenician god of healing. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 5: Beirut – Jeita – Harissa – Beirut

Set off this morning to the mesmerising Jeita Grotto, a flooded and sprawling cave system that was once considered a finalist for the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Enjoy a boat ride here through the lower cavern. Heading back into daylight, continue to Harissa and soak up the panoramic vistas from the Shrine for our Lady of Lebanon. Then, head back to the capital. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 6: Beirut – Batroun – Byblos – Beirut

Set off for the north of the country today to Batroun, famous for its fragrant lemon groves and fresh lemonade. You'll weave in and out of historic Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox Churches and soak up the laid-back atmosphere. Continue to Byblos, considered the oldest harbour on Earth, and indulge in a tasty seafood lunch. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 7: Beirut – UK

After breakfast, head to the airport and catch your flight back to UK where your trip comes to a close. (Meals: breakfast)

Please note that at the time of booking, your name must be filled out exactly as per your passport (including any middle names). This is in order to accurately book flights and for any required visa invitation letters.

If your outbound flight leaves at dawn (before 4am) you must arrive at the airport the night before the selected departure day. If your return flight departs early in the morning, you may not be able to enjoy the included breakfast.

What is a deposit?

In short, you pay Secret Escapes a non-refundable deposit to secure your holiday, then you pay the holiday supplier the remaining balance of the holiday - as advertised - at a later date (before you travel).

We've added deposit-only sales to enable our members to get early-bird access to more amazing holidays, and because we know that planning and paying for a holiday can take time.
