Dining

A favorite among both locals and visitors, and winner of an OpenTable Diners' Choice Award 2018, Blue Pig Tavern serves classic American comfort fare, breakfast through dinner. A dining experience for all seasons, it offers a secluded patio for warmer months and a cosy fireplace, in the large dining room, for colder ones. The menu features ingredients sourced from the resort’s own 62-acre Beach Plum Farm, located just two miles away; farm-to-table dishes like New England clam chowder, fish and chips and salted caramel cheesecake are a few enticing options.

For coffee, a baked treat or a light meal, Tommy’s Folly Coffee Shop is the perfect spot. And for a daytime juice or a nighttime tipple, with a view, head to Veranda Bar. If you’d rather pair your drink with live music, choose between the Boiler Room and the Brown Room, the latter a piano bar in the same spot as Congress Hall’s first legal post-Prohibition cocktail joint. Or if you’d like to try something different, explore AAA Five Diamond Award-winning The Ebbitt Room at the sister Virginia Hotel.

Spa

Sea Spa at Congress Hall has one goal: your relaxation. Through treatments that are inspired by the healing properties of the ocean, each experience is intended to promote wellness and renewal. Options like the three-step Ocean Memory Marine Ritual and the dual organic-certified Terre & Mer facial are a great excuse to enjoy the yellow-striped, cabana-style rooms during your Congress Hall stay.

Location

Home to the oldest seaside resort in the country and plenty of Victorian charm, Cape May is a National Historic District, with almost 600 preserved Victorian buildings, evening ghost tours and a lighthouse that dates back to 1858. Beyond the town’s history is a variety of local activities and culture to experience; in addition to options for wining, dining, shopping and taking in the arts scene, activities include seasonal hits like whale watching and ever-popular beach bumming.

Travelling with kids?

In your guest room, cots are available for an additional $25, while Pack 'n Plays are offered free of charge. All abodes include a bathtub and a mini-fridge, while restaurants offer kids menus and highchairs.

Kids aged four to 12 can visit the kids camp, for a fee of $45 per child. All ages are welcome to participate in Carnival on Mondays in July and August, soccer and games on the lawn and Sunday swims after sunset, while children aged four to six can also enjoy the Blue's Clubhouse Activity Club. The swimming pool is accessible for little ones too.
