Known as the "Stone Balcony" of Halkidiki due to its dramatic position overlooking the Toroneos Gulf, Afytos is widely regarded as one of the region's most picturesque villages. A ten-minute walk brings you to the Folklore Museum of Afytos, where you can delve into local history, or the 19th-century Church of St. Demetrius in the central square.

Beach lovers have excellent options nearby; the turquoise waters of Varkes Beach and Moudounou Beach are both within walking distance (roughly 10-15 minutes). For a change of pace, the lively town of Kallithea is just a five-minute drive away, offering buzzing nightlife and ancient ruins like the Temple of Ammon Zeus. If you have a car, a drive to the Sani wetlands or a boat trip around the peninsula offers a spectacular day out.
