Property details

A delightful escape to an Arundel countryside inn with a fantastic pub-restaurant - includes breakfast and optional dinner credit
  • A great British stay: Escape to Sussex in truly British style when staying at The White Swan, a typical old inn and pub. The cosy rooms are modern and bright, with large beds and en-suites, while the traditional pub and restaurant have flagstone floors, exposed wooden pillars and a working fireplace. The gentle ambiance and great selection of local ales and gins make it the sort of place where you can happily while away whole afternoons at a time.

  • Gourmet pub grub: Get ready for the best of British food at the restaurant, which serves gourmet pub classics, made using the finest local produce and ingredients. Juicy burgers and fish and chips are popular choices, but it’s the Sunday roast that really turns heads and gets people talking – think rare roast beef, crispy Yorkshire pudding and perfectly cooked roast tatties.

  • Delights of Sussex: Although you’re staying in the English countryside, you’re certainly not staying in the middle of nowhere. The local area is a treasure trove of fun activities, and you’re only a 15-minute drive from the great British seaside, so make sure you pack your swimmers. The coastal towns of Bognor Regis and Worthing are close, as is historic Arundel and the South Downs National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A setting just outside Arundel puts you mere moments from Arundel Castle, a 1,000-year-old castle that has been the home of the Dukes of Norfolk for around 850 years. Take a tour around the medieval fortress and discover rare paintings by the likes of Van Dyck, Gainsborough and Canaletto. The beautiful gardens host historical events and re-enactments, like archery classes or knight's tournaments, and are a real insight into the life of a Norman. If you find yourself wanting more, Petworth House and Park, a National Trust property, is a much loved local attraction.

The great outdoors is on your doorstep, with all of the South Downs National Park for the taking. Ancient woodland and lowland heaths make up this stunning Area of Outstanding National Beauty. Specific ideas for local afternoon strolls include the Halnaker Windmill walk, and a visit to the Chactonbury Ring is not to be missed.
