Charming North Yorkshire coaching inn - Refundable hotel

The King's Head Hotel, North Yorkshire, North East

Property details

An award-winning Georgian coaching inn in a picturesque North Yorkshire market town, with revamped interiors and period features - includes breakfast and dinner options. Refundable hotel - book with confidence
  • Countryside setting: North Yorkshire is brimful of characterful market towns set amid the stunning Yorkshire Dales, including Richmond on the River Swale, home to an impressive Norman castle, ruined Easby Abbey and the elegant Georgian coaching inn The King's Head Hotel, over 200 years old.

  • Renowned guest list: Having undergone a million-pound refurbishment in the past few years, here you’ll find much to celebrate. Being a Grade II listed building, many period features and original rooms are still in existence, including a ballroom which hosted a piano recital by famous composer Franz Liszt back in 1841. Other illustrious previous guests include world-renowned artist JMW Turner and Boy Scouts founder Lord Baden Bowell.

  • Exploring the great outdoors: Today it retains a welcoming ambience, and with only 24 bedrooms, boasts an intimate air. A full English breakfast will more than set you up for a day out and about, maybe following some of the local walks described by famous travel writer Alfred Wainwright in his walker’s guide. While the town itself offers a number of excellent cafes and restaurants, it’s well worth opting for a hearty dinner on locally sourced regional fare in the hotel's restaurant.
