Budapest’s Corvin Quarter is probably best known as a shopping destination, but take a stroll around and you’ll also come across street statues, the historic art nouveau cinema and a fantastic selection of international restaurants, from tempting Italian to authentic Thai. It’s also just a leisurely 30-minute stroll along famous avenue, Üllői út, to reach the town centre from here (or you can hop on the metro just five minutes from the hotel). On your way into the historic city centre you can veer off course to discover spots like the Hungarian National Museum or pretty Károlyi Garden. Be sure to also stop by Central Market Hall, where fresh produce is sold across three floors in a traditional 19th century market hall (foodies can try a tasting tour to get the full experience here).

Hop off the metro just 20 minutes from ESCALA Hotel & Suites and you’re within walking distance of two of Budapest’s most striking buildings: St. Stephen’s Basilica and the Hungarian State Opera.
