Even the best hotels have empty beds. Because we keep it hush-hush, they slip us phenomenal deals. Too good to be true? Nah. Just too good to be public.
Historic Campania castle with individual suites - Refundable hotel
Castello di Limatola, Italy

Property details
- Unique castle stay: Castello di Limatola’s past may have been one of a defensive stronghold yet, since being taken over by the Sgueglia family, it has switched from security to hospitality. Thanks to a thoughtful restoration, the hotel has opened up its 12th-century doors to welcome guests who can enjoy the Volturno River views.
- Inspirational suites: Inspired by women and families who have lived or stayed here in the past, the Limatola Castle’s nine individually designed rooms honour the likes of Catherine Della Ratta, Aurelia d'Este and Virginia Gambacorta with elegant décor and luxe silk fabrics, made more grand by vaulted ceilings, 18th-century frescoes and canopy beds.
- Italian eats: As its name suggests, The Stables a la carte restaurant is located in what once was the Castle’s stables. Beneath its ornate wooden ceiling, you’ll find history has been kind and the chefs draw on the region’s traditions and local produce in their colourful lunch and dinner menus. A classic Italian breakfast of pastries and coffee is also served.
