Elegant 5* Copenhagen boutique with 1920s heritage

Park Lane Copenhagen, Hellerup, Copenhagen, Denmark

Property details

Stylish Nordic cool in a historic Hellerup building just north of Copenhagen, with Michelin-recognised dining and a desirable setting next to an urban park – includes breakfast, one dinner and a welcome drink
  • Beautiful Danish design: Once a cinema in 1927, then a ballroom, and now a hotel, Park Lane Copenhagen opened not long ago in the wealthy suburb of Hellerup, just 15 minutes north of the city centre and near to the sea, beach and park. The hotel’s slick design is the vision of Camilla van den Tempel, who has restored spaces to polished elegance with typical Danish style – think classic Scandi minimalism with a luxe twist, complementing the building’s historic character. No wonder the hotel holds the coveted Michelin Key distinction.

  • Gourmet dining: Choose from three stunning restaurants, from 12-course Nordic tasting menus at the ritzy, Michelin-star-studded Parsley Salon, to casual open-faced sandwiches and bistro-style dinners at Rosé Rosé and slick, seasonal plates at Restaurant 2900. The latter sources local ingredients which are whipped up into international meals by chef Tom Fransson. For nightcaps, pre-dinner cocktails and a vast wine list, head to the sharply sophisticated bar.

  • Pure relaxation: If the accommodation wasn’t restful enough – a vision in black and white, sparkling chandeliers and gold accents – upgrade your stay with a high-tech wellness experience (fees apply). Hire red light masks, infra-red sauna blankets, grounding mats and leg compression boots, combined with cleansing green juices, energising ginger shots and supplements, and lay back and relax.

How to get there

Copenhagen Airport is a 30-minute drive from Park Lane Copenhagen. Alternatively, if you’re arriving via public transport, take the metro from Københavns Lufthavn to Kobenhavn H before changing to the S-tog E line to Hellerup (about 13 minutes). You can walk to the hotel from there in around 15 minutes. The hotel has its own garage parking which is easily accessible.

Park Lane Copenhagen, Strandvejen 203, 2900 Hellerup, Denmark

The perfect destination for a city break, the vibrant Danish capital of Copenhagen is known for many things – Carlsberg, the Little Mermaid, the anarchic district of Christiania and its delectable fine dining scene. There’s plenty here to occupy you for just a weekend or even a longer stay, from historic churches and castles, to upscale shopping and plenty of free sights too. The colourful community of Nyhavn, set along the canal and harbour, is an unmissable corner of the city and is a lovely spot for a stroll. The jewel in the city’s crown is the Tivoli Gardens, a theme park set in its very heart. The 19th-century amusement park is packed with activities to give you a fill of old-fashioned fun and is but a stone’s throw from many a museum too, from the Architecture Centre to the Danish Jewish Museum.

Immediately surrounding the hotel is the affluent district of Hellerup – it’s about a 15-minute taxi ride from the centre of Copenhagen but is well worth an explore in its own right. Pootle down wide avenues or around the charming Oregardsparken opposite the hotel, head to the nearby coast for a bracing stroll, or spend the day exploring the ancient royal hunting ground of Jægersborg Dyrehave – perhaps joining an organised walking tour. Alternatively, make like Danes and hire bikes locally to explore further afield.
