Zell am See draws holidaymakers seeking out lakeside peace, mountain energy and glacier thrills. In summertime, take to the lake for super-scenic paddle boarding, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing and chilled boat trips. Three lidos allow for safe swimming and sunbathing on pristine waterside lawn. Bikers are in paradise on the splendid mountain trails, and daredevils can race downhill into the valley on the freeride trails. Hiking trails abound, from gentle, flower-sprinkled hills to High Tauern's rock formations. You'll also find three golf courses in town.

The Kitzsteinhorn glacier can be appreciated in summer too via guided hiking tours. Use your Summer Card for complimentary access to Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun viewing platform 3000 metres above sea level and reached from inside the mountain. There's also ICE Arena Kitzsteinhorn for summertime sledging and a snow beach. Come winter, you have ski-in, ski-out access to the slopes from the hotel.
