Escape to a family-owned historic inn on Barbados’ palm-fringed east coast, near iconic Bathsheba Beach - includes breakfast, a welcome drink and oceanfront options

  • With views across the Atlantic Ocean from its hillside position on Tent’s Bay, the Atlantic Historic Inn sits perfectly off the beaten track, so you can experience the calm and collected side of the often buzzing Barbados. This little paradise has only nine rooms, so you’ll be tucked away from it all in one of the most beautiful corners of the island.

  • Turquoise seas and crashing waves are the setting and soundtrack to the hotel restaurant’s famous West Indian Buffet Lunches, which offer piles of classic Bajan and Caribbean food for you to sample, and there’s a rotating menu each week for dinner too. After dinner, sit and watch the waves with a coconut kiss or tropical colada cocktail from the bar.

  • By day, get sun-kissed and wind-swept by the oceanfront swimming pool or lounge in the bamboo cabana for real island vibes. Then, by night, relax in your beautiful room - think exposed stonework, dark wood furniture and pops of teals and oranges all centred around a rustic four-poster bed.

Barbados has something for everyone, from magnificent marine life and beautiful beaches to delicious food and everything in between. We highly recommend hiring a car and driving around the island - head north from the hotel to find Animal Flower Cave, or across to the west coast to visit Speightstown, Holetown and the Mount Gay Rum Distillery. Divers should definitely venture out into Carlisle Bay, where the shipwrecks are kept company by giant manta rays and turtles, and if you just want to lie on the beach, there’s plenty of that too.
