A storied 15th-century château set within beautiful grounds close to the town of Chambéry, the gateway to the French Alps – includes breakfast, a wine tasting and more. Fully refundable - book with confidence
- Historic hotel: Just a few minutes from the centre of Chambéry, a historic town famous as the capital of Savoie, Château des Comtes de Challes is an opulent pile with fascinating history. Once home to the Counts of Challes, the 15th-century mansion has been given a romantic face lift with modern interiors and all the comforts you’ll need.
- Celebrated dining: The gourmet restaurant is widely acclaimed by the Michelin guide and Gault & Millau for its fine French cuisine, using fresh fruit and vegetables sourced daily from the local markets and other products from around the region, including wines - in fact, you'll indulge in a wine tasting session in the hotel's lavish wine cellar during your stay.
- Wellness facilities: There’s a massage therapist on call if you’d like to indulge in a relaxing treatment, and an outdoor swimming pool for warmer days. The hotel also makes its own lavender honey – you can see the hives – and it’s possible to take a self-guided tour of the château and its two hectares of parkland.
Please note that some dining and leisure facilities may be closed. Please call the hotel before you travel to find out if facilities have reopened.
- Outdoor pool (open seasonally)
