Property details

Five-star design-led hotel with outdoor pool and idyllic views, close to Tuscany’s secret beaches - includes breakfast, one dining discount, and more

  • Hidden treasure: If Porto Ercole doesn’t ring a bell, it’s not a surprise. This hidden peninsula jutting from the southern end of Tuscany’s coast has so far eluded most tourists, and even in peak season you’ll find quiet corners all to yourself. Head for A Point Porto Ercole Resort & Spa for a heavenly base to explore a vastly different side to Tuscany.

  • Scene-stealing vistas: All the good bits are here: great Tuscan wines and spruced-up cucina povera, rich with the abundant fresh herbs and vegetables. There’s beautiful scenery too, best explored on a canoe tour or perhaps a catamaran, or by hiring bikes to trundle between beaches. The nearest is just 600 metres from the hotel.

  • Stylish and secluded spa: The resort is sleekly styled and features the essential five-star requirements to help you unwind, like a spa with a sauna, Jacuzzi and massages on request. Top off each indulgent day with dinner at the creative Tuscan restaurant by the pool, and toast to la dolce vita.

Via Caravaggio Int, Via Tramontana, 58018 Porto Ercole, Italy

The Monte Argentario peninsula in southern Tuscany is often referred to as ‘the corner that tourism forgot’. While Tuscany conjures up images of slender cypress trees, vineyard-clad hillsides and winding roads between rolling hills, this unspoiled peninsula has been largely left to rewild since the Americans left after the Second World War.

Here you’ll find the type of tranquillity one could only dream about - think quiet harbour villages bobbing with colourful fishing boats – their hauls landed from the Tyrrhenian Sea, with citrus-hued villas clinging to cliffsides. In peak summer it’s hot and full of Italian holidaymakers, but still devoid of the clogged roads and packed beaches of further along the coast.
