Location and what's nearby

Rathausplatz 5, 39040 Tramin an der Weinstrasse, Italy

Surrounded by South Tyrol’s wine country, and overlooking the serene Lake Caldaro, Villa Naj boasts a pretty spectacular location. Wine is high on the agenda of any stay here, with the local Plattenhof winery producing some of the region’s famous Gewürztraminer white wine. Hiking and biking trails criss-cross the surrounding countryside and are great ways to explore, while swimming in Lake Caldaro – the warmest lake in the Alps – is the perfect way to cool off after a long walk. The mighty Bletterbach Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also just under an hour away.

Of course, it's not all wine: in the winter, you'll be in easy reach of many ski resorts. Obereggen, one of South Tyrol's most popular resorts, is less than an hour away: there are plenty of ski schools for beginners to find their feet, plus pristine snow parks for snowboarders to level up their tricks. There's also a wide variety of après-ski opportunities, bringing with it a younger crowd for you to socialise with.
