Celebrate St Patrick's day in Chicago and New York, catch the Amtrak to Boston for a Celtics vs. Knicks game, before a full-board cruise in the Bahamas - with travel and more

Day 1: UK - Chicago

Arrive at your UK departure airport for your flight to Chicago. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring the city.

Day 2: Chicago

Today’s the day Chi-Town goes St Patty’s crazy, so get your Irish spirit ready and raring to go. Every year, the Chicago River is dyed emerald green for the celebration, so be sure to take a wander along it before you spend the rest of the day watching the parade and gorging on Guinness in many an Irish pub. It might not be classically Irish, but be sure to grab some deep-dish pizza for dinner - Giordano's is a Chicago staple.

Day 3: Chicago - New York

This morning, you’ll transfer back to the airport for your flight to New York. You’ll be picked up and taken to your hotel on arrival, less than a 15-minute walk from Times Square.

Days 4 and 5: New York

Spend two days at leisure in New York; don’t miss out on all the highlights, from Central Park to the Rockefeller centre. New York’s St Patrick's day parade takes place on the 17 March (your second full day in the city) and has done since 1762 - it holds the title of being the largest parade in the world.

Day 6: New York - Boston

Transfer to the train station this morning to catch the Amtrak to Boston, which will take roughly four hours. On arrival, transfer to your hotel to settle in, then head out to watch the Boston Celtics play a thrilling basketball game against the New York Knicks.

Days 7 - 9: Boston

With three full days in Boston, you’ll really be able to delve into the city’s history. History-fanatics should be sure to wander the Freedom Trail and visit the Boston Tea Party ships. On your second full day here, head to the Sam Adams Brewery for a tour.

Day 10: Boston - New York

This morning, fly back to New York. Your cruise sails from here, so you’ll transfer to the port to board your ship. (Meals: full board)

Day 11: At sea

Spend a day at sea, en route to Florida. (Meals: full board)

Day 12: Port Cavaneral, Orlando, Florida

You’ll dock into Orlando in the early afternoon. Royal Caribbean offers shore excursions to the Everglades and the Kennedy Space centre, if you fancy exploring the city. (Meals: full board)

Day 13: Nassau, Bahamas

Today you’ll have an afternoon onshore in Nassau, where you can spend the day basking under the Bahaman sun. You could opt to take a shore excursion to learn about the pirate history of Nassau or go snorkelling off the coast to spot turtles. (Meals: full board)

Day 14: Perfect Day CocoCay, Bahamas

An island owned by Royal Caribbean, Perfect Day CocoCay is home to a waterpark, several beaches, dining options and much more. (Meals: full board)

Days 15 and 16: At sea

Spend two days at sea making the most of your ship’s facilities. (Meals: full board)

Day 17: New York

Dock back into the USA early in the morning, then disembark and head to the airport for your flight home, spending a night on board before you arrive. (Meals: breakfast)
