A Malaysian-Indonesian sandwich with a thrilling Kuala Lumpur stay before a three-stop tour across the islands - includes a city tour, cultural excursions, a beach stay and all travel

Indonesia is home to thousands of staggering islands flaunting a melting pot of cultures and people, with beautiful landscapes, exotic wildlife and outdoor adventures aplenty. This epic adventure starts and ends in Malaysia's city-slicker of Kuala Lumpur and explores three of Indonesia's most resplendent places in between - the cultural mecca of Ubud, dragon-dotted Komodo National Park and idyllic Balinese beach in Benoa, Nusa Dua.

You’ll kick off in green-fingered yet futuristic Kuala Lumpur, home to countless colourful cultures and the freshest of aromatic street food. Lying within a tropical bird's chirrup of the extraordinary KL Forest Eco Park, a thriving bijou rainforest right in the centre of the Malaysian capital, your modern towerblock sleep is the definition of urban comfort. Take in the city scenes from the tree-speckled rooftop with inviting pool and Jacuzzi. You'll go on a tour while here, snapping the mighty Petronas Twin Towers and seeing the Royal Palace, Parliament House, the Lake Gardens and the National Mosque.

You’ll then move onto Ubud, the cultural and spiritual heart of Bali, bedding down at Royal Casa Ganesha Hotel & Spa. Here, surrounded by rice paddies and verdant jungle, enjoy Indonesian spa treatments, float in the foliage-encircled pool and head into Ubud's artistic centre to soak up the creative energy. You'll go on a full-day tour of the area, visiting the stone-carving village of Batu Bulan to see the colourful Barong and Kris dance and watch the craftspeople creating their designs with a variety of wood, before moving on to the ancient Goa Gajah cave adorned with Hindu and Buddhist images, and lastly gazing at the mighty volcanic Mount Batur, and Kintamani and Tegallalang's rice terraces.

After this tranquil scenery, it's time to fly over to Labuan Bajo, on the island of Flores. The next morning, you'll hop on a boat to Komodo National Park to stroll among prowling Komodo dragons and other wild animals on their home turf. After trekking through tropical jungle towards Banunggulung, you'll leave the island for some snorkelling at Pink Beach, among flourishing coral and marine life.

Finally, slip into five nights of utter beach bliss at a contemporary new hideaway on the sandy enclave of Benoa in Nusa Dua. Flake out on silky shores or embark on some watersports, or simply make use of Tijili Benoa Hotel's infinity pool and spa, before you spend one more night in heady Kuala Lumpur and finally catch your flight back to the UK.
