Embark on an eastern escape, from the dizzying heights of Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur’s skyscrapers, to the ancient history of Chiang Mai and Bali's beaches - includes flights, transfers and a half-day tour of Malaysia’s capital

Bangkok

No trip to Thailand would be complete without a stay in the buzzing capital. Brimming with energy, sleepless Bangkok has some of the most impressive bars and restaurants in Asia, as well as a grand palace and supersized temples. Zip between gilded landmarks and towering skyscrapers by tuk-tuk, pick up exotic produce at a floating market and sample the city’s legendary street food. Shopping in Bangkok is also an experience not to be missed, so it's well worth paying a visit to the city's finest malls like the sprawling CentralWorld and the luxurious Emporium. Artsy guests can visit the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and explore its three floors of gallery space showcasing contemporary and classic visual art, theatre, film and literature. Finally, end the day with a cocktail at Sky Bar - Bangkok's highest bar - and take in the spectacular views of the city.

Chiang Mai

Next, you’ll fly north to mesmerising Chiang Mai. With its soaring mountains, calming river and ancient Buddhist temples, this city is rich with both natural and cultural wonders. Between adventures in the outdoors or jaunts to nearby temples, recharge with a cooling dip in your hotel’s swimming pool. For shopping and dining, Maya Mall is an easy option located just a seven-minute walk from the hotel. If the views of Doi Suthep from the hotel have intrigued you, the temple and the adjacent Hmong village are approximately an hour away.

Kuala Lumpur

Magnetic, forward-facing Kuala Lumpur is Malaysia's capital. Here, you’ll have a heady half-day city tour seeing all the sights. Take in the National Monument, the King’s Palace with its blend of rich Islamic and traditional Malay architecture, and the National Museum and Independence Square for an insight into the city's culture and history. The latter is home to both the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Kuala Lumpur City Gallery. Laced with verdant gardens, the National Mosque is a real treat, crowned with a main dome of green and blue tiles and featuring 48 smaller domes spread across the Mecca-inspired courtyard. The Petronas Twin Towers are an unmissable skyline photo stop in the landscaped 50-acre KLCC Park.

Bali

Finally, you'll jet to Seminyak, one of Bali's most treasured beach spreads. This southeast coast gem has just the right amount of boutiques, restaurants, bars and cafés to keep you scintillated, combining all the glamour of Cannes or St Tropez with the exoticism of Asia. Shop for handmade Balinese lace, drop into a surf school, checkout the art at Nyaman Gallery or simply kick back on the beach and paddle in the shallow water with a cocktail in hand.
