Trapper’s Hotel

Svalbard, Norway

Traditional trapper’s holiday in the Norwegian Arctic with the option to add dog-sledding and a Northern Lights tour

Calmly resting in the high Norwegian Arctic is the incredibly beautiful Svalbard archipelago on the island of Spitsbergen. Here you’ll have a unique eco-lodging experience at the Trapper’s Hotel in the area’s capital, Longyearbyen. Expect locally-inspired décor such as slate, driftwood and sealskin but also, all of the modern amenities and warmth you’d expect from a contemporary hotel.

Providing a fantastic base to explore the region, head out to see the world’s northern most church, try dog-sledding or set off on a snowmobile safari. In the dead of winter, the sky even glows blue and the mountaintops exude a touch of pink. The highlight of the hotel is the Cognac Attic, where you can grab a cocktail and check out the glass ceiling - through which you might be lucky enough to spot the Northern Lights.

Stay in a Twin or Double room with a buffet breakfast and bottle of wine upon arrival or go all out and book a three-night break with the same inclusions, plus a Polar Experience. This includes four hours of dog-sledding on the second day and hunting the Northern Lights on the third.

Good to know

Please be aware that the northern lights are a naturally occurring phenomenon, so whilst we hope you will get to marvel at them during your excursion, we can't guarantee that they will be visible.
