An imposing Victorian hotel with plush decor, spa and AA Rosette dining by the beach in Torquay, with two dinners and mini cream tea

For those times in life when you just want to be beside the seaside and lull yourself to sleep to the sound of lapping waves, there a few better places to stay than a hotel right by the beach. Luckily, The Grand Hotel in Torquay ticks that very box.

Founded in 1881, this beachside Victorian hotel is traditional in decor and features great facilities throughout, as well as a top location for a relaxing break by the sea. The Grand Leisure Club has two pools (including an indoor pool and a seasonally heated outdoor pool), a hot tub, sauna and gym. The star of the show here is an AA Rosette-awarded restaurant that serves delicious modern British dishes.
