A cosy boutique country hotel in the heart of Oxfordshire, with charming rooms and a gastropub-style restaurant – includes breakfast and three-course dinner
Set in the picturesque Oxfordshire hamlet of Playhatch, this award-winning 16th-century inn blends historic charm with a distinctly modern twist in a boutique country escape that’s both rustic and refined. Spend your days soaking up the tranquil pastoral bliss with scenic country walks along the river, or take in some sights with a jaunt to nearby Henley-on-Thames to see the beautiful 16th-century Greys Court mansion.
Most people come to The Crown to sample its excellent gastropub-style restaurant, but to the rear of the building you’ll also discover 10 exquisitely styled en-suite guest bedrooms with large, comfortable beds – ideal for flopping down on after a satisfying dinner. Located in a separate, low-rise outbuilding, each of the chalet-style rooms has its own private entrance and outdoor terrace, creating a private, luxury bolthole from which to explore the surrounding countryside.
Simple, stylish and extremely tasteful, The Crown at Playhatch is a quintessential country escape where guests can be sure of the very highest standards of dining and accommodation from breakfast until bed. It won itself a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
