A luxury castle in the romantic Yorkshire Dales, with a superb AA Rosette-awarded restaurant – includes breakfast, three-course dinner and a cookery class

A grand old English castle in a vast country estate, Swinton Park is a beautiful setting for a relaxing break in the Yorkshire Dales. Surrounded by 200 acres of parkland holding no less than five lakes, there are tons of wholesome country pursuits to indulge in, from shooting to riding, fishing and falconry. If you’re itching to roam further, the Dales are right on your doorstep, with their pretty villages and picturesque trails for walking and cycling.

Swinton Park’s been in the Cunliffe-Lister family since 1880 and feels more like a home than a hotel. Relaxed, welcoming social areas and excellent service are combined to create a truly peaceful country house. The bedrooms are beautiful, individually designed to the last detail, as is Samuel's Restaurant, the stunning dining room with original gold leaf ceiling and award-winning cuisine. With a chef on hand to impart their wisdom, you might want to join one of the popular cookery classes in the converted Georgian stable wing too. Swinton Park scooped a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Good to know

Please note Samuel’s Restaurant will be closed on a Monday and Tuesday evening from mid-July. On theses evening dinner will be served in the Terrace Restaurant.
