With country surrounds that sit not far from Plymouth, you’ll have the best of both worlds here. Mount Edgcumbe Country Park is home to extensive parkland rife for walks and bike rides, and is also the site of one of three Grade I-listed gardens in Cornwall. A 90-minute drive will take you to the pretty coastal towns of St Austell and Padstow, and if there’s not enough nature surrounding your shepherd’s hut, Dartmoor National Park is only an hour away too.
