Explore Sri Lanka’s captivating culture, breathtaking national parks and golden coastline on a luxury tour, with city sightseeing and Jeep safaris included

Days 1-2: Colombo - Udawalawe

Arrive in Sri Lanka’s capital city and get your bearings on a guided tour (on arrival day or in the morning, depending on your flight). On your second day, you’ll make your way to Udawalawe National Park - home to a huge number of Asian elephants as well as an array of other wildlife - and venture out on a Jeep safari. Staying at an award-winning and eco-pioneering boutique camp, you’ll also take an evening night walk and enjoy a barbecue dinner under a glittering sky.

Distance from Colombo: 90km

Day 3: Udawalawe - Yala

Today, visit the soul-stirring Elephant Transit Home facility, where orphaned young elephants are rehabilitated for release back into the wild. After watching a feeding session, move on to Yala National Park, which can claim one of the highest leopard populations in the world. Head out on a Jeep safari, as well as another night walk at your second luxury Mahoora tented camp, where you’ll enjoy incredible food in amazing outdoor settings once again.

Distance from Udawalawe: 85km

Day 4: Yala - Galle - Kalutara

After your adventures in the wild, visit Sri Lanka’s most southerly point, Galle Fort, arguably the most well-preserved sea fort in South Asia. Discover this historic trading port’s Portuguese, Dutch and British-colonial buildings, as well as its new wave of cafes and boutiques.

Day 5 onwards: Kalutara

Your final stop is the golden beach-blessed region near Kalutara, a former spice-trading town located around an hour south of Colombo. Shop for locally made woven baskets, try exotic fruits and relax by the alluring, palm-dotted Indian Ocean coast, which can easily be explored by train on the ambling South Coast Line.

Distance to Bandaranaike International airport: 80km
